This debate goes one for centuries if free weights or cable movements are the best. Well if you asked me you should do but for a complete sculpt body. They do have there own benefits if you are into fitness only and don't want to have big and defines muscles then swimming would already be enough. But if you want muscles ripping your shirt then you need to do weights.

I train major bodypart in the morning and smaller in the afternoon i always do split training to specify the muscles fully.

If you already know what you are doing then you won't need a trainer but from time to time you still need to consult veteran athletes because even Mr. Olympia does ask questions.

I also believe that a trainer is necessary; there are various ways to do an exercise. There are many workouts which if not done in proper manner can prove to be harmful resulting in pain in various parts of the body.
