    Binge on banana.

Being a store house of macro- and micro-nutrients, banana is a complete food in itself. A good sized banana has 116 kcal of energy, 70% water, 27% carbohydrates, 1.2% protein, 0.45 fibre and 0.3% fat. Prominent minerals of banana include phosphorous, potassium, calcium, iron and zinc. Vitamins of B-group, A and C are also present in a fairly good amount in a banana. Cholesterol and fat content is minimal.

But it has often come under fire – unjustly, for being a high calorie snack. It contains a natural sugars which is easily digestible and releases in blood stream quickly. This explains why many athletes, especially tennis players, often eat banana before and in-between competition.

So, just add high-energy to your diet through banana to help in keeping your body engine running at peak performance.
