    Getting a Six Pack

This is a question for the men in the house. My husband would love to tone his abs and build that ever so famous six pack. He does not have time for a gym membership. Besides the traditional crunches and sit-ups, how would you recommend he go about building up? He workouts out about 45 minutes to an hour almost every day. He is quite committed and would try most any exercise if he thought it might work. Please share the things that have worked for you so I can pass them along.

Losing fat on the belly needs lot of time effort and dedication. I don't think traditional situps or crunches can do the job. There is no tailor made solution for getting an 6 pack, however I recommend you to have a look at http://bodybuildingcommune.com/blogs/ripfast/archive/2007/07.aspx

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

Something else that I have found as a useful guide is a book called, The Abs Diet. It has some really great exercises and concepts for building your abs. They have a women's edition out now as well. The gym that I work at recommends this book often to people looking to do exactly what your husband wants to do. There is no easy way, but this book will help you along the way.

    Six Pack,

Woe.. it sound interesting but when it comes to execution then you actually realize how difficult it is. i have a trainer who claims that doing 6 min of ab exercise regularly can give you abs in 1.5 months. but it has to be regular 6 mins a day. what you think guys ?

Six pack is made in the kitchen. Everyone got a six pack as everyone got abs. But the six pack is covered by a layer of fat which prevents it from being seen. So he should eat less fatty food and try to burn that fat. Abs workouts help to enlarge the abs making it more visible.

Well I think he is doing the right thing with the crunches--they work but have to be done every day and you have to do a substantial amount of them too...to get the perfect six pack abs doesn't come easily!

Each one obtained with a package of six as each one ABS obtained. But the package of six is covered by a layer of grease which prevents it from being considering. Thus it should eat less fatty food and of test to burn this grease. The training sessions of ABS help to increase ABS making it more obvious.
