    Whey Powder

I do not believe in using many supplements to achieve my goals. Whey powder is one that i do use and I highly recommend. It is a high concentrate of protein that is derived from the leftovers from making cheese. It is great to sue to help build your muscles and it helps by giving your body a natural shot of protein before and after a workout. Stick the synthetic stuff and use what is healthy for your body and all natural; whey protein.

    Re: Whey Powder

What kind of dosage is recommended for a 210 lb guy like me? Will it not hurt the kidneys to take it in the concentrated raw form? I too had tried whey protein when I was in college, My coach had advised me not to take it, but from my experience it burns fat and build the muscles like anything. I was worried about the kidney then and just stopped taking it. Can you recommend some good protein?

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

    Re: Whey Powder

I went to a recent health fair where a nutritionist was there.  She was touting a diet of higher natural proteins for the vegetarian. I am not a vegetarian but I now eat some of her recommendation for protein to get a daily dose without the extra calories from meats. Here is a small list:

Oat Bran: 1/2 cup raw 8 grams

Soy beans: 1 cup cooked 28 grams

Oatmeal: 1 cup cooked 6 grams

Lentils: I cup cooked 18 grams

These are all good for you and help with heart health and do not put on a lot of added calories.

With all of these proteins that you have listed is there a danger of possibly getting bloated? Or is that what you are looking to achieve?

No. I dont think you will get bloated. These supplements are consumed mainly to gain muscle mass and to release the tension of you muscles after work out.

I used to achieve the same result by taking an amino acid supplement prior to doing a real heavy sesfor arms and chest workouts.
