Total Gym - Chuck and Christie Meant Well

One day in 2003, i came home after being out in the field working on cellular towers and was really exhausted. I saw a huge huge box with Chuck Norris' face on it. I shouted for wife and asked her WTH is this. lo and behold we had a "Total Gym" and a $1800 bill. I was pissed!!! The price is way too high and it's functionality even worse.

Didn't you chuck (get it) out the price before you bought it or was that the delivery charge (surely not). When I'm over in the states Chuck always seems to be on TV with his total gym :-)

I was trying to keep the spending under control but wifey had the credit card. And when she saw how "easy" it was to get 6 pack abs, I guess she thought me and her can get them together....lol

Ha!! getting your money back from an infomercial here in the US is nearly impossible. You have a better chance of getting a chargeback credited on Paypal. However, I did turn into a sport about the whole thing and decided to bite the bill. Unfortunately, I didn't like the awkwardness or uneasy balancing act I had to perform in order to stay planted on the Total Gym while working out.

I love to workout with weights, a bench, and a elliptical. However, a friend purchased a Total Gym and since he was not into fitness like I am, he asked me to come over to try it out. I have to say, you get a better workout trying to figure out the stupid machine than you do  during the workout. If you can balance and finally figure it out, there is some benefit to the workout for beginners but once you hit the next level of fitness, the machine will end up in the closet or sold at a yard sale for pennies on the dollar. I say for anyone else looking, for what you pay for this machine, you can set up a basic Gym with weights a an elliptical for long term fitness.

This is so true, they always make it sound so easy than they make it so hard that most people give up and keep the product.

Well I agree, gym equipement is really expensive these days, especially if you buy them one by one.

To my luck I live in an estate where the gym equipment is provided, so if I need to work out I can use the facilities for free.

I cant believe Chuck would sell his name like that but my dad has the total gym and it actually was good till it broke and the company never responded to our calls.

We made a mistake for not recording or we could of sent it to the BBB and then the BBB would get on their back and probly shut them down
