    My Own Story - SFOD223

I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor in 12/05. Before this was found out I was suffering from diabetes and could never seem to lose weight. However in 1/2006 my tumor was removed through my nose and my diabetes was cured. Now I since my surgery i have lost approximately 80 lbs and still working at it.

That is great. It is always nice when they find out what is holding us back from our fitness goals. Unfortunately for me, I know what it is and it isn't medical. The tumor was removed through your nose? Oh my, that had to be somewhat painful when you woke up. What methods have you used to lose the 80 pounds? Do you focus more on eating plans or your fitness routine or about equally on both ? Congratulations on such great results.

Actually, I was only under sedation for around 1.5 hours and had an excellent neurosurgeon that performed and perfected this tumore removal procedure. Believe it or not he used GPS coordinates to program the device to incise my tumor.

It was called transphenoidal tumor resection. Much less invasive than past procedures.

Well congratulations on achieving what you wanted. I guess you must have been afraid of the tumor removal. Anyhow now that it's over you can train you body to what you want it to be, with effort though :)

    All the best again!

All it takes is will power and determination. Having the "diabetes" monster lurking over my shoulder was a big inspiration to keep me on track also.

It is sad that it takes a medical scare for most of us before we are motivated. I am glad though for you that you seem to be on the right track now. You are dead on when you say it takes will power and determination. I am quite active but still have to fight back the weight. I wish you the best and hope you get to your final goal. Just remember the scale is not the only way to judge, make sure you are doing good excising and firming up your body to stay healthy for life.

Wow, congratulations! I'm glad they caught it while you were young. Surgery is always harder to get through when you're older. How has the new weight loss affected your diabetes? Congratulations! I bet you're feeling better than ever! Have a lot of fun with your new body!

Wow! 80 pounds! That is wonderful.

I actually want to lose 20 more pounds. After that, I'll see if I can lose about 20 more just so I would be fitter. I hope I can do what you did. You're such an inspiration!
