People always assume once they exercise they are safe. Also people who are skinny always believe people who are Fat have all forms of diseases from heart problems to high cholesterol. A friend of mine who weighs an amazing 140 pounds and is 5 ft 11 apparently has high cholesterol of 300. He complained of dizzy spells and tiredness before he went to see the doctor. he always told me thin people can never have cardiovascular/ cholesterol issues, he told me it is always fat people and that it is excess of fat that is cholesterol. There are people who are overweight and don’t have any hint of a health or heart disease. I would like to know what is the cause of my friends cholesterol is it the type of food he consumes heredity or simply because he doesn’t exercise
Often times, I have read about "Skinny Fat People". From what I understand, this is people that for whatever reason stay skinny, but they don't take care of themselves and their body is struggling just as much as someone that is overweight. The bottom line is if you don't take care of yourself, your body suffers regardless of size. Someone else may have more information.
The basic cause of high cholesterol is diets. Whatever you consume gets metabolised into body tissues and what ever excess you eat which is over the amount or limit you need gets converted to fats. Cholesterol is also a type of fat. Basic cause is due to improper or over oil and oily stuff consuption.
there are many primary and secondary causes such as Genetics or family history, Age, Sex, over weight, diet, alcohol and smoking.
stress also play important role in high cholesterol.
Your friend is wrong. I weigh 115 am 5'5" and have a high cholesterol, just because you aren't fat doesn't mean you are exempt. Sure, you are healthier when you're on the leaner side but that doesn't mean your body runs perfectly.
