    Friends and Weightloss

CBS Evening news gave a clip of a piece that they are planning to air tomorrow on the news. It says that there is research out showing the people you hang out with impact your weight. That makes sense to me as my friends all like to eat. The people I am closest with at work are into ordering out and the people I hang out with outside of work are eaters as well. Does anyone else think that this research is definitely on target? I hope I am home to see what they really found out from the research. Who knows, maybe I need new friends !

I think that it only stands to reason those you associate with on a regular basis will determine a lot about your choices. Whether it be food or exercise, people tend to go with the group they are comfortable with and that is usually friends and family.  Certainly, you are your own person and could vary, but realistically many of us, me included at times, cave to what is going on around us. If pizza is being ordered, we are in and if the walk is being skipped by everyone else, then we take the day off as well. It is interesting, but really not groundbreaking research on their part.

Here's an article that I've read before.

Are Your Friends Making You Fat?

Two of my best friends are overweight. They eat a lot...so I eat a lot whenever when I'm with them. That is so bad!

I suppose friends do make you fatter. But its your choice what you eat at the end of the day.

Its better to exercise with friends. Its is less lonely and there is a motivation to do it.

lol ! Interesting topic. Yeah to some extent this is right and this survey is justified. I personally when go for an outing or say in the college canteen with my friends consume a lot of fast foods which is very harmful but you can't help that. Friends eat a lot and then you can’t resist.
